This summer, I was lucky enough to see the beauty of our country as my family went on a three-day tour around the Ilocos area. And of course, because it's summer, our first stop was the beach -- Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte to be exact.

Pagudpud’s beaches are nothing short of amazing: Stretches of white sand lined with coconut trees and crystal water.

It's not my first time here, because I've been here before when I was a kid and wasn't old enough to know and appreciate the scenery. We (me and my cousins) were still in the car when we saw the sea of blue that stretches for as far as our eyes would allow, and we let out a collective "WOW". Clearly, we couldn't contain our excitement as we sang along to whatever was playing on the car stereo, waiting for that time we finally arrive at our destination and enjoy the beach.

The next photos will feature Hannah's Beach Resort & Convention Center, where we stayed overnight.

Lady Liberty traveled from New York to Pagudpud to welcome us. Hahaha!

Selfie opportunity!

Now it's time to enjoy the beach!

And apart from swimming and building sand castles, what better way to have fun than to ride a banana boat?

It's a girl thing. :)

As the sun began to set, the sky turned into this pretty shade of purple.

Pagudpud at night looks just as amazing as it was during the day.

The next morning, we woke up early to watch the sunrise. I was curious to see the sun rise over the sea and now I can say that it was one most the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my entire life. It reminded me how grateful I should be, to be there, to be alive, to be with my loved ones, and how lucky I am to be able to witness such beauty. I wouldn't mind waking up to that view everyday.
